Oh! Slender lupine beast
Of fang and claw and tooth.
Your form conceals an inner light,
A cloak which shrouds the truth.

Mere mortals cannot comprehend
That which they cannot see.
The mystic power of the gods
Some call divinity.

The passion of the holy ones,
Their beauty and their wrath.
Combined into a single form,
Unleashed upon the earth.

Power over all creation
And power over death.
As wild as the stormiest seas,
As pure as lover's breath.

A plain white wolf, strong, proud and tall,
For us you do not shine.
But to the gods you show yourself;
Amaterasu, divine
A poem I wrote for English Lit. work. My inspiration came from the PS2 game 'Okami', which I'm sure you will have guessed if you've played it. I can wholeheartedly recommend this game, it's definately one of the best games I've played recently, and the art and music are really beautiful, they compliment the game perfectly. (Still haven't finished it yet, but 54 hours in :p)

2 Hours in the school library.

P.S. Amaterasu is pronounced (Am-a-teh-rass). I hope that makes sense.
